TaylorMade Updates Spider Putters For 2026

These days it’s almost impossible to think about TaylorMade putters without thinking of the Spider. The mallet putters have become a brand within a brand over the last decade, propelled by enormous success on Tour thanks to the likes of Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler.

It’s probably no surprise then, that TaylorMade are looking to expand the range even further in 2026. The eagle-eyed fans among you may have already spotted these across the PGA Tour in recent weeks, and now we have full details on the new Spider Tour range with new torched finish, and Spider ZT Max Putters.

TaylorMade Spider Tour 2026 Putters

The new Spider Tour range offers four different models, including two brand new shapes, and is immediately eye-catching thanks to the new torched PVD finish, which is not dissimilar to the one that Rory McIlroy has used on his own Spider X for the last couple of years.

The Spider Tour and Spider Tour X continue, along with a new Spider Tour F and Spider Tour V, which was recently tested by Brooks Koepka.

Each of the four shapes offers different MOI and CG placement, helping to boost performance for golfers with different stroke types.

The Spider putters have amassed more wins than any other putter range since the start of 2024, with Scottie Scheffler alone accounting for a staggering 16 victories with his Spider Tour X since March of that year.

Each model in the range comes with TaylorMade’s Pure Roll insert, made from a blend of surlyn and aluminium. The grooves are angled at 45°, promoting better forward roll with a soft feel.

Behind the face, the Hybrar Echo Damper helps to reduce unwanted vibrations, for a better sound and feel.

One of the most important aspects of putter design is alignment, and the Spider range offers two different configurations – True Path and Single Sight Line.

Each putter comes with a KBS CT stepless black shaft and SuperStroke Pistol 1.0 grip, apart from the Courterbalance model which has a SuperStroke 2.0 XL grip.

Spider Tour X Putter

The Tour X is offered with three different models to cater to a wide range of stroke types. The L-Neck has 21° of toe hang with a full shaft offset. The Small slant has 30° toe hang with a half-shaft offset, for golfers with arcing strokes.

The Double Bend hosel is face balanced, for golfers with a straight back, straight through stroke and offering more face stability.

Golfers can choose between either the True Path or Single Sight Line.

Spider Tour Putter

This is the original Spider head shape, which has become one of the most recognisable models in golf over the last couple of decades.

Like the Spider Tour X, there are three different models available – L-Neck, Small Slant, and the Double Bend Counter Balance. This comes with a heavier Super Stroke 2.0 XL grip, and the head is also built heavier to accommodate it. It’s ideal for players wanting looser grip pressure, with a back-weighted design helping the putter to move freely.

Spider Tour F Putter

The new Tour F is designed for two different stroke types. The L Neck is for golfers with an arcing stroke, while the Double Bend is face-balanced for those who prefer a straight back, straight through motion.

The CG location is 22m behind the leading edge, which is the second most forward in the range, and both putters feature a Single Sight Line.

Spider Tour V Putter

TaylorMade say that this is the most ‘stroke specific’ model in the lineup, and is said to appeal most to golfers who have traditionally used blade putters – which is potentially why Brooks Koepka was interested in trying it.

The putter has the most forward CG position of any putter in the family. This works along with the natural arc of the player’s stroke, keeping the face on the right path through impact but allowing for more precision and feedback.

Available from 4th June, all of the putters in the lineup will be priced at £299.

TaylorMade Spider ZT Max Putter

Last summer, TaylorMade introduced their first zero torque putter in the form of the Spider ZT, providing a high-MOI mallet to provide ultra stability.

This year, they’ve added a new Spider ZT Max, which offers even more high-MOI properties and comes with three different configurations – Standard, Counterbalance, and Long.

The Spider ZT Max is all about stability and forgiveness. Heavy weights in each corner of a lightweight aluminium body push the mass to the outside of the head, meaning you’re less likely to be punished for a slightly off-centre strike.

The shaft is lined up directly with the putter’s centre of gravity, so it sits naturally in the same position every time you set it down. The sole has also been redesigned to sit flat on the ground without any adjustment.

TaylorMade have taken everything that worked in the original Spider ZT and scaled it up into a larger, more substantial head.

The face insert is a mix of Surlyn and aluminium, which gives it a soft feel at impact, and the grooves are angled at 45° to get the ball rolling end-over-end as quickly as possible. The alignment lines on the top have been tweaked too. They’re milled to exactly the width of a golf ball, so lining up your putts right in the middle of the face feels easier.

Spider ZT Max Standard Putter

The standard putter is offered in 33, 34 and 35 inches for right and left handed golfers. The shaft enters the head near the CG, working alongside the enlarged head shape for a toe-up orientation that sits flush against the ground at address.

The SuperStroke Off-Axis Tour 2.0 grip is designed to help keep the focus squarely on the stroke. The putter weighs 379g, reflecting the additional weight and size compared to the Spider ZT.

Spider ZT Max Counterbalance Putter

The counterbalance model is available in 36 and 38 inches. It comes with a KBS Custom Graphite shaft and longer SuperStroke grip. This moves the balance point higher into the grip end of the club, helping to reduce grip pressure and quieten the hands.

The head is 398g which is heavier than the standard model, to account for this system. There are two different grip options available, giving golfers the ability to fine-tune the degree of counterbalance.

Spider ZT Max Long Putter

As the name suggests, this is a longer 46 inch configuration which takes the focus away from the hands and wrists, towards the larger muscle groups of the shoulders and arms.

A head weight of 472g is the heaviest in the lineup, calibrated specifically for the added shaft length and the pendulum style stroke that it encourages.

The lie angle is 79 degrees, much more upright than the other options, to help with the more upright address position that you’d see with a ‘broomstick’ putter of this type.

The Spider ZT Max putters are available from 4th June. The Standard model is priced at £449, the Counterbalance is £499 and the Long putter is priced at £549.
