Over the last couple of years we’ve seen Shot Scope really make efforts to branch out and expand their product range, and its latest launch takes things into another direction again.

Rather than a new handheld or wearable device, the Scottish brand has released an Apple Watch app, giving golfers a hardware-free way to enjoy the Shot Scope system using a device many players already have on their wrist.
It means Apple Watch owners can get full GPS mapping and shot tracking without needing to carry a separate device, while still being able to track their health and exercise stats as normal during a round.
Hole Maps and Distances
The app gives users detailed overhead hole maps, complete with hazards and trees, along with the ability to tap any point on the hole to get a specific yardage.

There are also dynamic distances to the front and carry of hazards, as well as the usual front, middle and back yardages to the green.
Green Contour Data

Every green has been mapped by Shot Scope’s in-house team, showing the various breaks and undulations on the putting surface to help with reading putts and planning approach shots.
Performance Tracking
As with other Shot Scope products, the app also allows golfers to track every shot played, giving access to more than 100 tour-level statistics, including Strokes Gained and Handicap Benchmarking, via the Shot Scope performance dashboard.
This ties into the wider Shot Scope ecosystem, which includes MyStrategy, a data-driven strategy builder, and the newer Shot Scope 6 framework, which condenses those 100-plus statistics down into six key performance metrics to make post-round analysis easier.
Where Shot Scope is looking to stand out is on pricing. Rather than charging an ongoing subscription like many rivals, the app is available for a one-off payment of £149.99, giving golfers lifetime access with no recurring fees.

“Our philosophy has always been to make game improvement accessible and transparent,” said David Hunter, CEO of Shot Scope. “Many competitors tie golfers into monthly subscription fees that quickly turn their apps into expensive, long-term commitments. By offering lifetime access for a single, one-time payment, we are providing unbeatable value alongside world-class technology.”
The launch follows a busy year for Shot Scope, having also introduced the LM1 Launch Monitor at the 2026 PGA Show earlier this year.
