Odyssey Add All-New Face In Ai-Dual Putters

Odyssey have spent 25 years as the number one putter on tour, but they’re not resting on their laurels. The putter brand are already looking ahead to the next 25 years to maintain or even improve on their positioning, by focusing on four main areas of development: Insert innovation, zero torque, alignment and fitting.

This starts in 2026 with their all-new Ai-Dual putter range, featuring three different lines of putters each aiming to provide better roll consistency as well as other performance benefits.

Odyssey Ai-Dual Putters

Odyssey are probably the first brand that you think of when it comes to putter inserts. Their White Hot face has been one of the most successful and popular options for a couple of decades now. In the putter market as a whole, they accounted for around 65% of all putter sales in 2025.

This latest range sees the introduction of a new Ai-Dual insert, following on from Ai-One. As the name suggests, it’s a dual layer insert, both made from urethane. It’s designed to be soft on the surface, but firmer at the core.

It combines with a new FRD groove, which we have also seen in the new S2S Tri-Hot Putters. It’s got a deeper and more aggressive design, with a 19 degree slope, which is said to maximise topspin and roll.

Odyssey developed 72 different prototypes in order to find the right combination of insert shape, groove design and firmness.

The standard length (33″-35″) putters come with a lightweight steel shaft, with 20-30 grams of counterbalanced weight in the butt end.

There are five standard models available, as well as Cruiser options and some putters with new alignment technology too – more on that later.

Odyssey Ai-Dual Square 2 Square Putters

Each time a new zero torque putter range is released, it becomes more and more clear that this technology is here to stay. Zero torque putters accounted for nearly 25% of putter sales in 2025 and that popularity shows no signs of slowing down.

The new Ai-Dual Square 2 Square range features a number of the same technologies as the previous Ai-One Square 2 Square putters, but with the addition of that all-important Ai-Dual face.

The Square 2 Square design sees the shaft centred just underneath the CG plane of the putter. As a result, you get a putter that rests toe-up, promoting a squarer face throughout the putting stroke.

A built-in forward press sees 2 degrees of forward shaft lean to get the hands pre-set in a forward press position. This helps to eliminate golfers opening the face when they try to forward press on their own.

It combines with a new Reserve Taper grip, shaped to offset this shaft lean so that the edge of the grip lines up with the edge of the putter head, for a more familiar setup.

As a result of player feedback the Square 2 Square models feature a heavier SL 120 shaft, making it better suited to the larger heads in this range. This is also black as standard, making it feel less intrusive given where it is going into the head.

The Max models are available in Cruiser and Broomstick setups, with heavier heads, longer shafts and longer grips.

There’s also the option of the 1/2 Ball alignment technology, which is where we’re heading now…

Odyssey Ai-Dual 1/2 Ball Putters

25 years after they first introduced the 2-Ball putter, Odyssey are now introducing the 1/2 alignment option.

As the name suggests, this is a 1/2 ball shape which sits right up to the edge of the putter’s topline next to the face.

The idea is that it helps you to frame the ball precisely, making it easier to judge whether you have the ball in the middle of the face, or if the face is open or closed.

Odyssey partnered with academics from both Clemson and Baylor University to test the performance benefits of the technology. They found that golfers were making 11% more putts from 6 feet with the 1/2 ball technology.

The new Odyssey Ai-Dual Putter range is available from 23rd January at the following RRPs:

  • Ai-Dual inc. 1/2 Ball – £299
  • Ai-Dual Cruiser inc. 1/2 Ball – £339
  • Ai-Dual S2S – £339
  • Ai-Dual S2S Cruiser – £389
