The new Callaway CB12 Wedge is the latest update to their wedge model which is all about forgiveness. Lots of golfers use high MOI drivers and putters, and game improvement irons, but then make life harder for themselves by choosing to use bladed wedges.

The CB wedge range, which has been around for a few years, is built to offer forgiveness. It’s built for golfers who use cavity-back, often game improvement irons, and want the same benefits from their wedges.

This year’s model is called the CB12, and it gets it’s name thanks to the 12 grams of perimeter weighting in the cavity.

This is designed to boost forgiveness by moving the CG position in the head, giving you better performance even if you don’t strike it that well.
Combining this with a deep cavity back, larger head, and thicker topline aims to give golfers more confidence over the ball, even when faced with tricky chips or bunker shots.

The CB12 wedge also features the same groove pattern as the Opus Wedges. This helps to create more spin around the greens. You also get the same Urethane Microspheres seen in Callaway’s recent wedges and irons. They help to provide the same performance, feel and sound as a ‘premium’ wedge.
A Tri-Sole design helps to add versatility by getting through the turf more easily. This is ideal for golfers who have a tendency to hit behind the ball or decelerate or their shots. It also makes it more suitable for a range of shots without sacrificing forgiveness.
