Callaway Add Mini Driver To Quantum Lineup

If you were watching closely at The Masters last week, you may have seen Justin Rose play his way into contention with a mixed bag of golf equipment, including a then-unreleased mini driver. Well, that has changed this week, as Callaway officially announced the new Quantum Mini Driver.

Mini drivers have been a growing trend across the professional tours over the last couple of years, and we’ve also seen them creeping into the amateur game too. They offer a versatile option that can be more forgiving than a driver off the tee, whilst also being usable from the deck for more confident ball-strikers too.

One of the key technologies in the Quantum Mini, which is something that we have seen across the range of Quantum Drivers and Fairway Woods this year, is the Tri-Force Face. This is an upgrade from the previous Ai10x Face that we saw in the Elyte Mini Driver last year.

It uses three different layers of Titanium, Poly Mesh and Carbon Fibre in one ‘speed system’. The result is better speed and distance right across the face, even on mis-hit shots.

They’re also using the Step Sole design from the Quantum Fairways in the mini driver too. It reduces how much of the sole comes into contact with the turf to help with interaction. The refined shaping is also said to help the head to sit more naturally behind the ball at address.

Of course, with this being a Callaway wood, you’re getting the use of AI to help optimise the face design. Performance is said to be more consistent across the face thanks to a smarter face flex, which works with the new Titanium, Poly Mesh and Carbon Fibre.

Each part of the face has been tuned via AI modelling, to provide the best mix of speed, spin, launch and accuracy.

Golfers can fine-tune their ball flight thanks to adjustable front-to-back weighting, and the OptiFit 4 hosel. Moving the heavy weight to the front encourages a flatter ball flight, whilst moving it back provides more launch and forgiveness.

With a 340cc head, the Quantum Mini sits right in between a driver and a fairway wood in size. It designed to give golfers confidence at address, with a blend of power and control.

Available from 24th April, the Quantum Mini comes with an RRP of £489, and is available in 11.5 or 13.5 degrees.
