TaylorMade Introduce TP Patina Putter Range

Get a rust finish on your putter with these 7 models

TaylorMade’s reputation for creating putters has enjoyed a steady rise over the last few years, thanks to short game success stories like the TaylorMade Spider X, so much so that the brand can now be confidently regarded as one of the most respected flat-stick providers on the market.

With a stable including Jason Day, Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy (and even Tiger Woods having a dabble) using their putters, it’s no surprise that their popularity seems to be increasing year on year.

For 2019 the equipment giant has released seven more models in the new TP Patina collection, with four mallet shapes joining three more traditional blade shapes to give golfers what TaylorMade are calling ‘a look from the past, that plays like the future’.

Included in the range are two brand new designs, the Dupage mallet and Del Monte blade, but the biggest addition is the new Patina finish on the head.

This new premium look combines black nickel and copper and is developed to create a ‘reveal’ look on the edges and sole of the putter, as the finish oxidises over time to produce a rust look similar to that of a wedge.

A 5mm aluminium insert, which is thicker than the one in the previous TP Collection offers a great sound and solid feel, and was designed to optimise roll characteristics to give more consistent results on the green.

This Pure Roll insert is held in place by two TP Screws in the cavity, which TaylorMade says helps to reduce the presence of any voids or air pockets behind the insert, therefore giving a more solid feel at impact.

Finally, a KBS stepless chrome shaft offers a stiff structure designed for less twisting at impact, keeping the face squarer for more consistent and accurate results.

Priced at an RRP of 239, the TP Patina putters come wtih a new black and patina coloured Superstroke GTR 1.0 grip, which feels comfortable to hold and helps to promote a consistent stroke.
