Odyssey themselves admit that their new TRTL putters are a pretty badly kept secret in the equipment world. Images of the putters have been circulating on social media for quite some time, and Min Woo Lee has also had one in play on the PGA Tour since the start of the year.

Now, the TRTL putters are officially being launched to the public, with two different models designed to offer easy alignment and high MOI.
The mid-mallet TRTL shape reflects the modern mallet trend favoured by Tour players and amateurs, and will be available with Crank Hosel, Double Bend and S Neck options.
The larger TRTL Max is designed for maximum MOI and uses Odyssey’s popular Square 2 Square design with zero torque, aimed at players who want to minimise face rotation and keep the face square throughout the stroke.

Both shapes feature a new Twin Track alignment system, which is made up of long, uninterrupted lines for players who aim best that way. Odyssey say that the aim with this was to bring the alignment line all the way to the face and make it highly visible.

Every model also gets the new Ai-Star insert, a dual-layer construction with an aluminium inner layer and a firmer urethane layer on the striking surface. Odyssey says it was designed using artificial intelligence, and it’s intended to deliver consistent ball speed across the face with a firmer, more responsive feel than you might expect from an Odyssey.

Working alongside it is a new Forward Roll Design groove, which is deeper and more aggressive with a 19° slope. Odyssey says the combination should improve forward roll both up and down the face.
The body is crafted from steel with a black PVD finish, while the shell is made from lightweight ABS and the sole is lightweight aerospace-grade aluminium. This multi-material construction allows weight to be pushed out to the perimeter of the head, increasing stability and forgiveness.
There’s new sole geometry too, with refined rake and camber designed to help the putter sit naturally square as soon as it’s placed behind the ball.
Four weights positioned in the corners of the head also allow golfers to shift the CG towards the front, rear, heel or toe, and fine tune the amount of toe hang.

The putters come fitted with the new Tour Pistol grip, which has pronounced edges that are said to give better awareness of where the face is during the stroke, and a black SL 120 shaft to match the head.

The TRTL Max is also available in Cruiser and Broomstick configurations. The Cruiser has a heavier head, an SL 140 shaft and longer grips (17″ on the 38″ version and 15″ on the 36″), while the Broomstick comes with a 445g head, an SL 200 shaft and a two-piece grip designed for that style of putting.
The TRTL range launched earlier this year in Japan, where Odyssey says the four available models have been the top four sellers since release, helping the brand climb above 50% market share.
The TRTL putters are available to pre-order now, and will be in shops from 6th November. The TRTL Crank Hosel, Double Bend and S Neck models are priced at £299, while the TRTL Max Square 2 Square costs £329.
