TaylorMade Introduce Stunning TP Hydro Blast Putters

Seven new models with classic designs and premium finish

TaylorMade have continued to add to their extensive putter collection in 2021, beginning with four new Spider models in March and now announcing the new TP Hydro Blast Putter range of seven traditional models.

The fully milled putters are said to have been crafted ‘with the purist in mind’ and present a rich, premium look which is an apparent upgrade to the TP Patina range which we reviewed back in 2019.

This premium look has come thanks to applying a high-pressure stream of water to 303 stainless steel, which is ideal for high quality putters and is perfect for machine milling. A soft yet durable metal, it delivers plenty of feel along with crafted aesthetics.

The putters feature a soft, Surlyn PureRoll insert in a white colourway which has previously been used in the Spider X model, picking up a dozen victories on Tour since 2019.

The insert’s grooves are positioned at a 45 degree downward angle, designed to optimise roll characteristics for smoother, more consistent performance and better speed control.

The TP sole weights are different in each stock length for all putters in the range, with weights from 2.5g up to 20g available to purchase if you really want to dial in your feel on the green.

TaylorMade TP Hydro Blast Putters

The putters in the TP Hydro Blast collection are named in honour of iconic golfing regions and destinations around the globe, and feature different hosel types, sightlines and toe hang to ensure that their is a model for every putting style.

We relied on precision milling and the new Hydro Blast finish to deliver an artisan look to this family of premium putters. Through clean aesthetics, time-honored shaping and superior feel, we’ve blended the modern with the traditional to create a new class of classic.

Soto

Soto is a classically shaped blade with flowing, rounded edges. A clean construction with a single sightline on the back cavity, the traditional shape is designed to inspire confidence and give great levels of feel on every putt.

An L-Neck hosel produces 40 degrees of toe hang to provide a putter which best fits players who have a stronger arc in their putting stroke.

Del Monte

With a shorter blade length and wider front-to-back area, the Del Monte is more squat in profile which provides more of a mallet-like feel, while maintaining all of the characteristics of a blade.

There are two different models available – an L-Neck and a Single Bend hosel.

With 29 degrees of toe hang the L-Neck is designed for players who create moderate face rotation throughout the swing.

The Single Bend hosel is a more face-balanced setup, with just 8 degrees of toe hang, which is better suited to golfers with more of a straight back, straight through stroke.

Bandon

The Tour-inspired double wing design helps to frame the ball at address and encourages forgiveness thanks to optimised weighting towards the perimeter of the putter head.

With sharp geometric lines reflecting the precision of the mallet, the Bandon was the first of the TP Hydro Blast models to appear on Tour.

Tommy Fleetwood first put the Bandon 1 L-Neck version in the bag at the RBC Heritage in Hilton Head, as it improved the quality of his strike compared to more of a heel-ward strike with his old putter.

The other Bandon model is the Bandon 3, which features a short slant hosel with increased toe hang for more blade-like performance from a mallet design.

DuPage

A modern take on the traditional mallet design, the DuPage features ‘unique visual alignment cues’ along with a dual-slot cavity to help frame the ball better at address.

The face balanced putter has a single bend hosel, and is better suited to players with a straight back, straight through stroke.

Chaska

The Chaska is a remodelling of the iconic TaylorMade Corza Ghost design, with the circular alignment aid in the back of the putter head and three clear sightlines on top.

The rounded contours, adjustable sole weights and forward sightlines are designed to provide stability and simple alignment features. The face balanced putter features a single bend hosel, and is best suited to players with a straight back, straight through stroke.

Available now, the TaylorMade TP Hydro Blast Putters are available at an RRP of 199/229.
