Redback Spider Inspires Limited Edition Jason Day Putter

Aussie predator inspires two limited edition TaylorMade models.

Have you found yourself wishing you could putt like Jason Day recently?

Anybody watching the current World No.1 on the greens can be forgiven for throwing admiring glances his way, and whilst they can’t give you his stroke, TaylorMade is offering you the chance to buy the new look putter he has in his bag.

Day has used an Itsy Bitsy Spider prototype on Tour for some time and after his win with it at the 2015 PGA Championship the Aussie asked TaylorMade if they could incorporate some red into the colour scheme.

Red is a colour that means a lot to Day and in his native Australia there is also a nice, if dangerous, tie-in to TaylorMade’s Spider line of putters.

The Redback Spider is a venomous arachnid indigenous to Day’s homeland and inspired the TaylorMade design team in its colour choice for two new putters they gave the Aussie to try out in February.

He picked the Red version and although Day prefers his putter without an alignment aid on the crown, both models available to the public feature an alignment line across the seamless top crown.

Both Spider Limited putters are made of a 304 stainless steel frame combined with a lightweight 6061 aluminium body which enables weight to be positioned at the extremities for improved stability and a high MOI.

They both incorporate a milled Aluminium Pure Roll insert insert with a gunmetal finish to promote better forward roll, increased directional accuracy and improved distance control.
