Malibu and Bel-Air models now available in the UK

LA Golf have introduced their new Gen 2 carbon putters, said to feature the largest sweet spot in golf, to the UK this summer.

There are two new models in the range. The Bel-Air is a heel-toe weighted blade while the Malibu is a midsize mallet. Both putters have standard-size clubheads, compared to the first generation putters which were oversized.

The new putters feature descending loft face technology, a P-Series anti-vibration shaft and an MOI of just under 7,000 in the sweet spot, compared to the next best on the market at 5,000.

If you’re new to LA Golf, it was founded by Reed Dickens and first went to market in 2021 with premium aftermarket handmade shafts, which is where they made their name and were used by the likes of Dustin Johnson and Bryson DeChambeau, who also joined the company as partners.

“We figured out how to make an even better putter for less money. Our sweet spot is larger, our graphite shaft is completely stable so the head doesn’t contort on impact, and we have the Descending Loft face so no matter where you strike the ball in the arc, it’ll have optimal roll off the face.”

Reed Dickens, LA Golf Founder

The new P-Series graphite shaft was designed with the aim of eliminating shaft twist on off-centre strikes. To do so, the shaft is very stiff with low torque, and the materials used produce a softer feel than the static measurements suggest.

The putters are available now and are priced at 499 each.
