Over the last few years mini drivers have grown in popularity with both amateur and professional golfers. The new Titleist GT280 Mini Driver is the latest model to join the party, looking to give golfers distance and more control off the tee, whilst still being playable off the deck.

If you’re somebody who struggles with their driver, or you want another option at the top end of the bag, this could be the club for you.
The GT280 uses many of the same technologies seen the in GT Driver and Fairway lines. It is designed to be longer and more forgiving than a fairway wood, but easier to control and more workable than a driver.

The Tech
It features a Seamless Thermoform Crown, made from the same polymer as the GT Driver crowns. This allows for weight savings, while keeping Titleist’s renowned sound and feel.
Forward/aft weight adjustability is the same as the GT4 driver, offering two different CG settings. The standard setup is an 11g weight in the aft position, with the 3g weight positioned forward. Flipping these around will lower launch and spin, for a more penetrating flight.

There’s also an forged L-Cup face design.

This is there to help improve performance when the ball is struck low on the face – a common miss with woods. There is also a lower leading edge, which helps the club to perform better from the turf.
The GT280 gets its name from the head size – 280cc. This places it between the GT Drivers and GT Fairways.

The Mini Driver is offered in a 13 degree head, with a stock shaft length of 43.5 inches. This is two inches shorter than the GT Drivers, encouraging better control.
Available from 18th April, the Titleist GT280 Mini Driver has an SRP of £459.
