When it comes to new golf equipment season, Ping are always likely to capture plenty of golfers’ attention, thanks to their reputation for reliable and forgiving equipment. Their new G440 range is no different, but does it live up the hype compared to its predecessors?
Ping have gone all out again and released the entire G440 range. It’s available from the end of January 2025. Here is an overview of what they are offering this year:
Ping G440 Drivers

The G440 driver family (MAX, LST, SFT) is optimised to deliver more ball speed through multiple advancements. This includes Ping’s lowest CG (Centre of gravity) in a driver to date and a shallower, thinner face, while continuing to ensure forgiveness. A lighter overall system weight and longer 46″ shaft helps generate speed and distance.

The Max is the most forgiving model in the G440 range, making it ideal for the majority of golfers. For those who need them, there’s also a low spin (LST) version and an anti-slice (SFT) option.
While last year’s G430 range prioritised forgiveness, the G440 emphasises ball speed. However, like all Ping drivers, it still offers excellent reliability and stability.
Ping G440 Fairway Woods

PING’s G440 Fairways offer a re-designed face structure and low CG system. The faces of the MAX, SFT and LST are taller for more confidence off the tee while maintaining a CG location that delivers high-launching performance off the ground.

There are three different options to choose from in the new G440 Fairways – the Max, LST and SFT. Each option is designed to fit a specific player type with a head profile engineered to provide launch conditions that best match a player’s swing.
Ping G440 Hybrids
The G440 hybrids all share a shallower and thinner face, which improves contact for more ball speed and higher-launching shots that hit and hold the green.
The G440 Hybrid only offers one standard head but has a wide variety of loft options to choose from. Each loft option has a slight alteration to suit a wide variety of golfers.

The 2 Hybrid specifically has a slightly fade-biased shape for off-the-tee performance. Whereas the 5, 6 and 7 hybrids are slightly draw biased to help optimise club gapping.

Ping G440 Irons

The distance-driven G440 iron design best fits golfers in need of game-improvement technology who prefer the influence of a players-style shape. Increased ball speed comes from the thinner face, a PurFlex cavity badge, and the low/back CG location. resulting in higher-launching, longer-carrying shots with just as much stopping power.

G440 Irons are available in 4-9 iron, PW, UW, 52°, 56° in Ping’s 10 color code options depending on your specifications.
