Callaway Release Two New Apex Ti Fusion Irons

Last year, Callaway released the ultra-premium Apex Ti Fusion irons, made with titanium. We loved the look of the all-black irons and whilst the performance was fantastic, there were question marks over the durability.

Callaway seem to have addressed this in 2025 with the release of all new Apex Ti Fusion Plated and 250 Plated Irons, featuring a new chrome finish.

The brand are claiming an ‘engineering breakthrough’ to be able to add chrome plating to a titanium construction. It’s also designed to appeal to those golfers who prefer the more classic look of a chrome finish.

Titanium is a more premium material, and is usually used in driver faces. It’s more efficient than steel, and provides a larger sweet spot. This means that you get higher ball speeds right across the face.

It also works alongside Callaway’s urethane microspheres which combine with the forged steel body, to provide the kind of feel that you’d usually expect from a forged blade.

The inclusion of the new Ai Smart Face provides consistent ball speed, spin and dispersion. The brand say that this results in the performance of a two-piece iron, with the consistency of a muscleback.

Callaway Apex Ti Fusion Plated 250 Irons

This time Callaway have introduced a second iron into the range, which is more suited to golfers in the mid-handicap or higher range.

The Apex Ti Fusion 250 has a larger footprint than the standard model. There’s also a thicker topline, more offset and a longer blade length.

It’s designed to give a more confidence-inspiring look at address. There’s also supposed to be more forgiveness when you don’t strike it out of the middle.

Available from 25th July, the Apex Ti Fusion Plated are offered in 4-AW, with the 250 irons in 5-AW.

Callaway make no secret of the fact that these are premium irons, and that’s reflected in the price. They have an RRP of £417 per iron, meaning a set of six irons is going to set you back nearly £2500.
