Who? 24 year-old Spaniard Jon Rahm
What? The 2019 Open de Espana, successfully defending his title and his third win during 2019.
Where? Club de Campo Villa de Madrid, Madrid, Spain
How? Whilst last year may have been a tight race to the finishing line, this year there were no such problems for Rahm. His worst round of the week was a 67, and a 63 on Saturday gave him a clear cushion which he never looked like relinquishing. Fellow Spaniard Rafa Cabrera-Bello finished in second place.
Following the victory, Rahm said:
It’s always really hard for me to keep everything under control, and to play the weekend that I did for them is always really fun. I can’t wait for next year to come back and hopefully do it three times.
