Triple Black Model Added To Scotty Phantom X Range

Latest limited edition model from legendary putter craftsman

If you’re really into your golf equipment, then you’ll know that limited-edition releases from the legendary Scotty Cameron are about as good as it gets.

The latest model to receive such treatment is the Phantom X 9.5 Triple Black Putter, which comes thanks to feedback and inspiration from Tour players.

Scotty Cameron Phantom X 9.5 Putter

The Phantom X 9.5 is a high-MOI mallet which is similar in look and performance to the Phantom X 5.5 and 11 models, but with a new matte Tour Black finish and 6061 aluminium flange-sole component for a distinctive look and easier alignment.

Custom engraving inspired by the stripes on vintage muscle cars helps to frame the ball at address, and three red dots on the topline help you to focus on the sweet spot and serve as a reminder of iconic Scotty designs from down the years.

Each new line I create gives me the opportunity to gather feedback, make design improvements and roll out new models that incorporate these new thoughts – whether it’s a new neck, new finish or new alignment options.

This Phantom X 9.5 Triple Black is one of these concepts. I gave it our Tour Black finish throughout, including the misted black anodised 6061 aluminium component and the stainless steel body. With its jet black paintfill, I thought the classic car term ‘Triple Black’ fit. I also customised the milled sight dots on the topline with our signature translucent red for an extra bit of style.

In keeping with the theme of our limited release offerings, this putter also has a custom headcover, shaft band and Tour Black shaft.

Solid Stainless Steel Face/Body Construction

Precision milled from a block of 303 stainless steel, the putter was designed with a solid mid-milled stainless steel face which carries through to the body and wings, and integrates with a 6061 aluminium sole-flange component.

Tour-Inspired Shape

The putter came about thanks to player input related to some of the Phantom X range’s most popular models, including the Phantom X 5.5 and 11. The flange-sole component is designed to give golfers the confidence-inspiring look of a mallet with the highly desired small slant neck configuration.

Small Slant Neck

The small slant or ‘jet’ neck has gained plenty of admirers on Tour thanks to its crisp appearance, clean setup and arc-enhancing design. A full shaft of offset means that this compact shape still retains the stability of a mallet with the feel of a blade.

Weighting & Shaft

The new Phantom X 9.5 Triple Black putter features advanced stability weighting with two customisable stainless steel heel-toe weights, along with a stepless steel shaft in our Tour Black finish.

Finish & Graphics

The aluminium flange-sole component has been misted and anodised black, and the 303 stainless steel also misted black to reduce glare, and is complete with the Tour Black finish. The famous Scotty three-dot theme continues with the milled sight dots on the topline, accented in red.

Accessories

Each putter comes with a special mid-round headcover and features a black Pistolero Plus grip with grey lettering. A custom Cameron Concept Triple Black shaft band is also included.
