New Mizuno JPX 925 Forged and Black Irons

Distance and forgiveness combine with iconic Mizuno feel in latest forged iron offering.

When it comes to forged irons, there are not many brands who do things better than Mizuno. The latest Mizuno JPX 925 Forged irons look to take all of the precision and feel benefits of a forged head, but with the added performance and forgiveness offered by the JPX range.

This year Mizuno are treating us to both the JPX 925 Forged and the JPX 925 Black irons, following in the footsteps of the Mizuno Pro 225 Black irons.

The Tech

One of the key pieces technologies in the new line is the Cortech design, featuring a Contour Ellipse Face. This is a multi-thickness face profile which is said to optimise ball speed across the entire surface.

The result is better performance and forgiveness on our shots which are not struck from the centre of the face.

The irons are produced using a Grain Flow Forging process at their facility in Japan. The long irons in the set are made from a Chromoly 4120 material, enabling high ball speeds and easier adjustability.

The shorter irons (8-GW) are forged from 1025E Pure Select Mild Carbon Steel. This offers better control, precision and a soft feel that Mizuno irons are known for.

The irons feature Mizuno’s Triple Cut Sole design, engineered to improve turf interaction across different lies and conditions.

The leading edge is bevelled to ensure better entry into the turf, whilst a hard-cut trailing edge makes it easier to exit smoothly for better contact. The design pairs with optimised weighting for better control and confidence regardless of the playing conditions.

There are two different finishes in the new JPX 925 line. The traditional Satin Chrome offers a timeless, classic look, whilst the Forged Black is a contemporary option with reduced glare.

Available from 3rd February, the Mizuno JPX 925 Forged irons are priced at £200 per iron for the Chrome finish and £215 for the Black finish.

They’re offered in 5-PW and come with a choice of NS Pro Modus Tour and MMT 85 shafts in the Chrome model, and Dynamic Gold Mid 115 Tour Black in the Black irons.
