Nike TW’14 Mesh Shoe: Lightweight and Breathable

The third generation TW shoe from Nike is more lightweight and breathable.

Tiger Woods may be away from golf for a while, but his name isn’t. Nike have launched their latest shoe under his name by unveiling the Nike TW’14 Mesh shoes.

This is the third generation of the modern TW shoe, following on from the Nike TW’13 and TW’14 shoes. The new Mesh version is more breathable and designed to be the “ultimate summer shoe.”

Available in two colour combinations, grey/black or white/grey, the TW’14 Mesh has been designed to be extremely lightweight, flexible and breathable. The low profile of the shoe keeps you closer to the ground, whilst Nike’s Flywire technology (seen above right) in the midfoot cradles your foot for an “adaptive, glove-like fit”.

Here’s Nike’s Footwear Product Director, Lee Walker, on the thinking behind the TW’14 Mesh and how Nike’s custom online shop, NIKEiD, influenced the design of the TW’14 Mesh:

The mesh upper and Integrated Traction options have been incredibly successful with the TW 14 on NIKEiD. Consumers have told us they love it. So we created a version of the TW 14 with those features that people can try on in stores and purchase on the spot.

As was the case with previous version of the TW shoe, the TW’14 Mesh is built on Nike’s successful Free-inspired outsole.

The spikeless sole design allows for a full, athletic motion during your swing whilst also offering maximum ground feel throughout the round. It features several different types of traction and channels or grooves throughout the sole that give the TW’14 Mesh its flexibility.
