How? Trailing by four strokes heading into the final round, Holmes performed best in the tough conditions during the players’ second round of the day to shoot a closing 70 and best Justin Thomas, who fell to second place with a disappointing 75.
Following the victory, Holmes said:
I always thought playing in tough conditions would have been a better chance for me. Usually when the conditions are crappy, I do better.
