They’re best known their stunning feeling players irons which have been used by the world’s best players for decades, but the new Mizuno Pro T-1 and T-3 Wedges have really caught our eye.

Joining the Mizuno Pro lineup which has already seen the introduction of the Pro S3 Irons this year, the two wedges are aimed at providing high levels of feel, performance and versatility.
There are two different models available, to suit different playing types. Mizuno say that both are able to offer ‘spin consistency’, whilst still providing that iconic Mizuno feel.
Pro T-1 Wedge
The Pro T-1 Wedges are a classic bladed wedge, built for golfers who want versatility and control. Like their most recent Pro S3 irons, they use Mizuno’s Gran Flow Forged HD process and are made from 1025 Pure Select Mild Carbon Steel.

This combines with a copper underlay to generate that smooth feel that we have come to know and love from Mizuno over the years.
A compact teardrop shape combines with a straighter leading edge, making it ideal for precision shots with a focus on turf interaction.
One of the main features of the wedge is that there are six sole profiles – S, M, P, C, V and X. This means that nearly every golfer should find an option to suit their own playing style and course conditions.

The new M Sole (mid bounce) replaces the D Grind from the previous T24 Wedge. The P sole (plus bounce) has a similar profile to the D but with extra bounce for more versatility.
Mizuno also say that the wedges are designed to offer spin consistency in all conditions. This is thanks to Quad Cut + Grooves and Hydroflow Micro Grooves, which keep spin up even in wet conditions.
A tighter groove pattern maximises spin, whilst Hydroflow technology keeps moisture away from the grooves to improve performance.
The stronger lofted wedges focus on spin consistency, and the higher lofted wedges maximise greenside spin.

They’re available in three different finishes: Blue Ion, Black Ion and Soft White Satin.
Pro T-3 Wedge
The T-3 wedge is said to add more stability and forgiveness, without sacrificing on precision or feel.

They are forged using the same Grain Flow Forged HD process and use the same Carbon Steel and copper underlay in their construction.
Compared to the T-1 Wedge, the main difference is the inclusion of a shallow cavity back. This is added to improve stability and forgiveness, particularly on off-centre hits.
As a result, these wedges are best suited to golfers who want a bit more consistency in their short game.
There are three different sole profiles in the Pro T-3: S, M and C.

The M sole replaces the S23 D profile, and is a versatile grind for a wide range of shots including full swings, bunker play, and short shots around the green.
The wedges feature Quad Cut + Grooves and Hydroflow Micro Grooves, maintaining spin consistency and control in different weather conditions.

The T-3 Wedges are available in a Soft White Satin finish, for both right and left handed golfers.
The Mizuno Pro T-1 and T-3 wedges are available between 46 and 60 degrees, and are priced at an RRP of £190.
