Baffler Hits 50 In New Cobra Irons

Cobra are celebrating the 50th anniversary of one of golf’s most iconic equipment stories with the release of new Baffler Irons for 2025.

Originally invented by Cobra founder Tom Crown, the Baffler rail technology is designed to produce better performance from even the most difficult lies. Cobra call this the perfect all-in-one combo set, and it’s the first to feature five different unique constructions.

The Baffler irons give mid-to-high handicap seniors, women, and beginner golfers a true game improvement set that boosts performance. They aim to provide forgiveness, consistency and easy launch from all distances.

The irons have taken inspiration from other Cobra designs, like the T-Rail, DS-Adapt and Air-X.

The combo set ranges from traditional hybrids, hybrid irons, hollow irons, cavity back irons, all the way down to cavity back wedges.

This setup is said to optimise gapping through the set, improving versatility and precision in the shorter ‘scoring’ irons.

The irons feature a progressive rail system. This sees steeper rails in the hybrids and long irons, transitioning into shallow rails in the short irons. However there are also no rails in the wedges, optimising turf interaction and strike for every club.
