Callaway Introduce Ai Smoke Mini Driver

Callaway becomes the latest brand to join the mini driver craze...

Callaway have become the latest brand to join in with the mini driver trend, which are becoming increasingly popular for Tour players as well as some amateur golfers who struggle to control their driver.

Callaway Ai Smoke Ti 340 Mini Driver

The new Ai Smoke Ti 340 Mini Driver has been designed with the same Ai Smart Face that was seen in the Paradym Ai Smoke drivers, said to be the most sophisticated face in the brand’s history.

The Mini Driver is designed to launch higher with more spin, and produce a softer landing off the tee. It’s designed with shorter shafts and a smaller footprint than a driver, which encourages more consistent distance to help you with dispersion.

Callaway says that the technology in the head allows for driver-like action but with the launch of a fairway wood. It has a titanium construction and an Ai smart face, to provide higher ball speeds and more consistency across the face.

The new Ai smart face uses swing data from thousands of golfers, measuring swing speed, club delivery and face orientation just before impact. This promotes optimal launch conditions and tighter dispersion, and is optimised specifically for the Mini Driver.

The technology also uses ‘micro deflections’ at impact tom help improve launch and spin rates on off-centre shots. This produces sweet spots all over the face, rather than just in the middle of the face.

The Mini Driver features both front and back weight screws, allowing golfers to further dial in their launch and spin numbers to suit their own ball flight. A 4g front weight and 12g rear weight can be swapped around, to lower spin and promote a more penetrating ball flight.
