Hot on the heels of the introduction of the RTX6 ZipCore Wedges last week, which will be used by tour players and plenty of other golfers around the world, Cleveland are back again with an updated version of their CBX Full-Face.
The new CBX Full-Face 2 Wedge is designed for golfers who are looking for a little more help and forgiveness around the greens, with a larger face and new spin technologies to give them more consistent results.
The CBX Full-Face 2 features a high-toe profile, which has become very popular in wedges over the last few years, and this produces a 13% more contact area than the RTX Full-Face, which should make things a bit easier when hitting shots with an open face.
New for the CBX line this year is ZipCore, a unique low-density core which is designed to expand the sweet spot and raise the MOI for added forgiveness.
This combines with the hollow cavity design and helps to put the Centre of Gravity more behind the impact zone, with Cleveland's Gelback insert absorbing the vibrations and improving the feel.
On the face, the striking areas on the wedge use the same HydraZip technology as used on the RTX6 and uses dynamic face blasts and laser lines to maximise friction and improve the consistency of the spin in both wet and dry conditions.
UltiZip grooves are also new to CBX and these are sharper, deeper and more tightly spaced to improve spin, control and consistency whether hitting from the fairway, rough or bunker.
The new wedges are feature reshaped sole grinds this time around.
The Full Sole design offers added bounce on lower lofts for stable, full swing shots. The C-Shaped Sole is available on higher lofts and adds bounce in the centre, with more relief around the heel to provide a combination of forgiveness and versatility.
All of the grinds have a new bounce chamfer, which makes turf interaction easier from a variety of actions and also helps to prevent chunked chip shots.
Our new CBX Full-Face 2 wedge allows golfers the freedom to get creative around the greens and in tight yardages, with the perfect amount of spin control. With the biggest face ever on a CBX wedge, you'll be able to strike the ball anywhere on the face with more forgiveness, while enjoying controlled stopping power in any conditions.

Full summary of the key innovations for the CBX Full-Face 2:
HydraZip: A new, dynamic face blast and laser-milled line pattern, designed to friction for improved spin consistency in wet or dry conditions.
ZipCore: Set in the heart of the wedge, ZipCore is a lightweight, low-density core technology that reduces vibrations, optimises CG location, and boosts MOI for increased feel, control, consistency and forgiveness.
UltiZip: Sharp, deep, tightly spaced grooves help maximise spin performance and cut through debris at impact. These grooves help deliver more consistent spin, control and consistency.
Larger Full-Face Profile: The larger face helps players hit more open-face shots thanks to the largest face ever on a CBX Wedge. More face equals more grooves, offering heel to toe forgiveness and versatility.
Forgiving Sole Designs: A new Full Sole design on the 50-52 degree lofts helps enhance performance on full-swing shots, while the C-Shape Sole featured on 54-60 degree lofts adds bounce in the centre. All lofts feature a new bounce chamfer near the leading edge, designed to reduce chunking around the green.
The new Cleveland CBX Full-Face 2 Wedges are available from 15th March and priced at £159 (£169 graphite), with True Temper Dynamic Gold 115 Spinner shafts and a Lamkin Crossline 360 grip.
