Who? 24 year-old Scot Robert MacIntyre.

What? The 2020 Aphrodite Hills Cyprus Showdown, his first European Tour victory.

Where? Aphrodite Hills Golf Club, Paphos, Cyprus.

How? After finishing third on the same golf course the week prior, MacIntyre showed that he was clearly a fan of golf in Cyprus. He converted four birdies in his final six holes to shoot 64 and take a one stroke victory over Masahiro Kawamura, in a format where all of the golfers who qualified for the final day started at level par.

Following the victory, MacIntyre said:

*”It’s a great week. The momentum is there, so it’s about going out and enjoying myself again.”

“I’ve struggled in every part of life since the Covid pandemic and my golf had struggled as well. Only my family know what’s gone on, but we finally found some form and started playing a few tournaments in a row and you start to build momentum.”
