What? The 2019 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-A, his fourty-fourth PGA Tour victory
Where? Pebble Beach, California
How? Following a Sunday hailstorm, the event had to be finished on Monday morning much to Mickelson’s dismay. However by then he was already three shots clear thanks to six birdies in his first 16 holes. Returning on Monday, Phil birdied his 72nd hole to run out comfortable winner and claim his 44th victory.
Following the victory, Mickelson said:
It has been a very special week. I thanked Paul this morning for having us finish in the morning. I get sometimes in my own little bubble and don’t see the big picture, and he really protected both of us.
The greens were beat up and we had the chance today to come out with fresh greens, better weather and be able to see a lot better. I was appreciative of that and told him so.
