After a short hiatus, 2025 sees the return of Adizero to golf with the new Adidas Adizero ZG Shoe.

The Adizero line from Adidas is their lightweight shoe range. It has been a popular choice across golf, running and football over the last couple of decades.
Upon first inspection, this seems to have taken inspiration from the previous Adidas ZG21 and ZG23 Shoes. You’ll see similar styling and technologies, but in a more lightweight and comfortable build.
Who Are They Aimed At?
Any golfer who wants a pair of spikeless shoes which are lightweight, but still remain supportive and provide good traction.
They’re a pretty modern design, although not quite as ‘out there’ as the likes of the Codechaos. If you’re a traditionalist when it comes to shoes, the all-white option may be your best bet.
Anyone who has used Adidas shoes, particularly golf shoes, in the past will recognise the comfortable fit and shaping as soon as they try these shoes. They’re a fantastic all-rounder and pretty suitable for year-round use, because the material is easily cleaned.
The Tech
The Adizero ZG is a lightweight, spikeless shoe which is also waterproof thanks to Sprintskin material. It’s a multi-layer upper, designed to provide an ‘adaptive and athletic’ look.

The technology can be separated into three main sections: traction, comfort and motion.
Traction comes in the form of a new Spikemore outsole. This features undercut lugs along the perimeter, improving lateral stability and traction from different lies.

There are also cone shaped lugs, helping golfers feel flat on uneven terrain. They’re also designed not to clog with dirt or debris, increasing their effectiveness.
In terms of comfort, Lightstrike and Lightstrike Pro cushioning combines in the midsole. This helps golfers feel close to the ground.

An Insite 2.0 sockliner and moulded heel cushion are inspired by running shoes. They provide softer padding, encouraging a better fit with more comfort.
Finally there’s a new Dynamic Torsion plate on the outsole. It extends from the midfoot to forefoot in specific areas. This helps with rebound, helping to avoid the foot rolling over during the follow through.
Extra arch support promotes better walking to lessen fatigue, whilst the medial side of the sole is curved and the lateral side is sharper for better footwork during the swing.
Adidas Adizero ZG Golf Shoe Review
Looks
The Adizero ZG are great looking shoes. They’re a perfect blend of modern design with some typical Adidas styling, without being too loud.

I tested the shoes in the white and grey colourway which looked great. This colourway had a pretty understated overall look that was clean and featured nice touches of detailing. The contrast of the iconic three stripes stand out nicely, whilst the instep has a textured effect.
There are a number of different colourways available too, as well as BOA lacing. As of yet there isn’t a black option, which is a bit of a shame.
On the sole, there are strategically sized and placed lugs. Whilst they are mainly there for their performance benefits, they also add a nice design element too.

I also found that they were easy to clean too. This is a big plus. because wearing predominantly white shoes in the UK during the winter can be a brave strategy!
Comfort
As many of you who have used Adidas shoes before will know, they can fit a little small. So, it is always worth trying them on before you buy.
I tested these shoes in a UK 9 and found that they fitted perfectly. The length, width and fit across the top of the shoe were all ideal. If you’re someone with wide feet, again these are worth trying first because they seemed to be on the narrow side.

Adidas say that regular golfers can spend up to 162 hours per year on their feet while playing golf. If you’re going to be doing that, you need a comfortable pair of shoes.
Thankfully the Adizero ZG delivered. They’re really lightweight, which makes it so easy to walk unhindered, but the sole offers a really nice level of cushioning too.
Performance
I have tested these shoes a couple of times now whilst playing out in Florida, and the performance was outstanding.

I played a couple of different types of courses, in both dry and wet weather. Both times, the shoes felt so light and comfortable that 18 holes felt like a breeze.
The new traction system feels so stable and supportive, that it’s almost as if you’re wearing a spiked shoe. One of the rounds was played following a morning of rain, and I didn’t slip once. This was despite having a number of shots from different lies and stances.
Adidas claim that the shoes are fully waterproof and from my testing, they were correct. Despite this, I was still really impressed with the breathability. After 18 holes my feet felt fresh and a very comfortable temperature.

The addition of the sockliner was great for comfort. It combined really well with the new heel section for a real locked-in feel.
Adidas Adizero ZG Golf Shoe Verdict
Adidas have been among my favourite golf shoes ever since I started playing the game, and the new Adizero ZG continues that pattern again into 2025.

Last year I was really impressed with both the Adidas S2G and Codechaos shoes. The Adizero ZG seems to combine the lightweight comfort of the S2G, with the stability and traction of the Codechaos.
It’s a really impressive overall package which performs like a spiked shoe, but feels like a spikeless one.
With an RRP of £150 they’re relatively expensive for a spikeless shoe, especially with quite limited colourways. Having said that, the performance and the fact that they’re waterproof means that they’d be great to use all year round.
They’re already right up there for me when it comes to the best golf shoes of 2025.
Would I Use Them?

Absolutely. I’m looking forward to using them this season!
