Wilson Launch Staff Model RB Utility Iron

Designed to bridge the gap between the longest iron and fairway woods

Wilson’s impressive Staff Model range has just been expanding again with the launch of a new RB Utility iron, designed to help golfers bridge the gap between their longest iron and their shortest fairway wood.

The Staff Model RB Utility adds to a range for 2024 which also includes the Staff Model CB Irons, Staff Model Ball and Staff Model ZM Wedges.

The iron aims to provide versatility around the course, and is said to be just as adept for teeing off on long par 3s as it is on approach shots to par 5s and even as a fairway finder.

It has been designed with input from Wilson Staff players such as Padraig Harrington and Kevin Kisner, and features a sleek, thinner topline to appeal to the better player.

This design has also helped Wilson to redistribute weight towards both the toe and the sole, producing a mid-to-low centre of gravity which improves forgiveness and playability.

The club also features a hollow body construction, which directly leads to enhanced ball speeds, shot shaping and aerodynamic efficiency. Strategically placed rib structures (RB) are inside the head, adding more stability on mis-hits whilst also improving the sound.

The clubface uses a high-strength C300 steel, which combines exceptional strength with flexibility, helping to produce ‘explosive’ ball speeds with a softer feel.

“The tour professionals and elite amateur players who tested the iron all commented on its amazing soft feel at impact and optimised ball flight. We feel we have created something special for golfers in search of that easy-to-hit distance club in the Staff Model franchise that has been so well received by golfers worldwide.”

Bob Thurman, Global General Manager of Golf and Vice President of R&D, Wilson Golf.

The Wilson Staff Model RB Utility is available next month in right-handed, in 18, 21 and 24, with a stock True Temper Hzrdus Gen 4 Black shaft and Golf Pride Z-Grip. It has an RRP of 220.
