Z-Forged Blade Completes Srixon Iron Lineup

They may not suit all golfers, but at least they look incredible...

When you think of forged blade irons, Srixon are bound to be one of the first brands to spring to mind. This year, they have updated their butter-knife offering with the release of the Z-Forged irons to complete their full lineup, following the release of the 585 and 785 irons in 2018.

Aimed specifically at the very best golfers, the muscle back blade is engineered to provide both a fantastic look and feel, and part of the challenge for Srixon is to still pack some useful technology into such a small head to go along with the impressive aesthetics.

The Z-Forged irons have a signature ‘double curve’ design thanks to two sharp lines at the back stemming from the heel and toe, and these also help to maximise workability. The forged construction delivers a fantastic soft feel which allows the best ball-strikers to perform to their best.

Dustin Brekke, Engineering Manager at Srixon Golf, said:

The new Z-Forged irons are the most compact, most workable irons in our line. They were created to give professionals and advanced amateur golfers confidence to hit every shot, while featuring a sole that glides through the turf for better contact and stable spin under any condition.

A newly redesigned Tour V.T. Sole provides more consistent ball striking while maintaining enough versatility to execute any shot. There is a steeper V-shape which Srixon say suits the better player with turf interaction as they tend to be steeper into the back of the ball with approach shots.

Each iron is forged from a single billet of soft 1020 carbon steel which delivers the great feel, along with the sleek and premium appearance you’d expect from a top of the range Srixon blade.

Released in the UK on March 1st this year, the Z-Forged are priced at 999 for a 5-PW set, although each iron can be purchased separately in order to create a combo-set which combines one of the brand’s other models.

Whilst the fact that Srixon only releases irons of this type every few years as a reflection of their lower demand, they are still an important part of the lineup as they showcase what many of the Srixon staff players are using on the Tours.

Srixon’s undoubted knowledge and ability to create excellent forged irons also mean that if you are an excellent golfer in the market for a product of this type, the Z-Forged should definitely be on your shortlist.
