Titleist Update DT TruSoft Golf Ball

Larger, softer core and new aerodynamics combine for more distance.

Titleist introduced the DT TruSoft to replace its popular DT SoLo golf ball back in 2016.

It had the lowest compression of a Titleist ball with the aim of reducing spin on longer shots for more distance and straighter ball flight at slower swing speeds, as well as softer feel on all shots.

Titleist operates a two year life cycle on ball development and the DT TruSoft is no exception with an updated ball hitting the shelves now for 2018.

Re-engineered with a larger, low compression core and proprietary soft cover technology, the new DT TruSoft delivers longer distance with incredibly soft feel on all shots, plus increased short game spin for stopping power on the green.

Michael Mahoney, Vice President o Golf Ball Marketing, explains the importance of this category of ball to Titleist:

Were meeting more and more golfers who believe you have to sacrifice distance in order to play a softer-feeling ball. Thats certainly true for many of the lower compression products in the market right now but not DT TruSoft. When we launched DT TruSoft two years ago, it instantly became the longest ball in the category.

Our R&D team has since discovered how to provide even more distance without impacting the remarkably soft feel that golfers tell us they love about this product. New DT TruSoft continues to prove that golfers who prioritise feel dont have to give up everything else.

The 2018 DT TruSoft is the result of Titleists rigorous research and development and industry-leading manufacturing technologies. Made at Titleist Ball Plant 2 in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts, the TruTouch Core is larger with a lower compression than the original version generating lower spin for more distance.

Advanced aerodynamics are optimised to provide a consistent, piercing flight with an updated proprietary TruFlex cover giving a very soft feel around the green and improved short game performance. This is central to Titleist’s ball fitting philosophy of “Fit From The Green Back To The Tee” so take the DT TruSoft to the short game area to see if the soft feel is the right fit for you.

The 2018 DT TruSoft is available in White and Optic Yellow with play numbers 1 to 4.
