How? Hovland picked up his first victory since 2023 after pipping Justin Thomas to victory at the Valspar Championship. Hovland has missed his last three cuts and had been badly struggling for form over the last 12 months, but three birdies in the final five holes was enough to give him victory.
It looked like Justin Thomas was going to edge it, after he made seven birdies in his first 15 holes to open up a lead. But the American faltered with two late bogeys, giving Hovland the chance to seal a comeback victory.
