The grip is the only point of contact that you have with the golf club, so getting the right one for you is vitally important. Golf Pride are the most popular grip manufacturers in the world, used by over 80% of professional golfers. For 2026 they are introducing the new CP grip.
This is an addition to the ultra-soft CP collection that you may have seen or even used over the last decade or so, including the CPX and CP2.
The new CP is said to offer all of the tackiness and softness that you’re used to getting from these grips, but with advanced features and tech to help further aid performance.
Whilst comfort is the main obvjective when it comes to these grips, they are still used by golfers on all professional tours, and have appeared in major championships this year on the PGA Tour, LPGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions.
They feature Plus4 Technology – the equivalent of four layers of tape on the bottom hand of the grip – along with a number of other technologies:
Localised Tack and Traction Zones
This is a dual-feel comfort performance, offering maximum tackiness in the glove hand to give you confidence whilst swinging. There’s also zero slip in the lower hand connection, encouraging more consistency.
Soft Feel
This helps to dampen feedback when you strike the ball for a more cushioned sensation, reducing hand soreness.
Reduced Taper
A larger lower hand promotes a lighter grip pressure, which can reduces tension throughout the swing. This is something that is being seen more frequently in the last few years, with the growing popularly of larger grip profiles.
The Golf Pride CP grips will be available from 4th August in standard size, with midsize grips to follow soon after.
