GoKart Electric Golf Trolley Review

The GoKart Electric golf trolley is certainly different.

We like the quirky design and the colour options and the fact that it folds down much smaller than most other trolleys. You can see a lot of thought has gone into the design. It folds out easily and all you have to do once that is done is to click the 18 or 36 hole battery in place and you are ready to go.

No wires to connect, just the elastic bag strap at the bottom (which has to be the way to do this) and the adjustable fabric strap at the top.

On the move the GoKart is one of the easiest trolleys we have tested to control with either hand. The ergonomic handle is very comfortable and you have one switch to turn on and off and a roller to control the speed which could not be easier to use.

Because the frame is essentially plastic, it is much lighter than a metal frame trolley and this makes it very easy to manoeuvre and results in less drain on the battery. The power to weight ratio means the motor has plenty of oomph to get you moving without any power delay. The slight downside to this is that if you are going downhill and then turn a corner too quickly the inside rear wheel may lift off the ground more easily than other trolleys, but take it easy and it won't turn over.

The GoKart can easily fit any size of bag up to a tour bag and the scorecard, pencil, tee and ball holders build into the handle are a clever touch and perfect for this end of the market.

The plastic looks may put some off but it looks a lot better with a bag on than off and the effortless ease of use and unique styling more than makes up for this. If you want a simple stylish trolley to just go forward for a good price then this is the one for you.

The only downside we found was the high pitched whine from the motor, especially at lower speeds, which may not bother some, but was quite annoying to us and could put other golfers off as you are going past while they are playing.

It's a real shame as otherwise the GoKart is one of the best electric golf trolleys we have tested.

I bought the GoKart golf trolley about a year ago. I think it is fantastic. Just get used to it, this can take a few rounds to do so. I have an automatic version. At first the trolley could run away from me but that didn't take long to master. The battery, I have heard a few comments that it is a rather awkward to fit. Not at all, after a few rounds you master the whole experience of this kart. I think that this would be the case with any new golf trolley. I haven't had to deal with the company regarding after service. They do have a good reputation. I cannot see why anybody would be disappointed with this product.

I had the Auto version Go Kart shipped to me in the US. It arrived within 4 days. The original one I received developed a controller problem after 1 round so the Go Kart folks immediately sent me another unit at no charge including shipping. The second unit has worked flawlessly and is as easy to use as their website video's show. I am very impressed with the engineering of the unit and the elegant simplicity of how it gets the job done. Great customer service and a quality product from my point of view.

I've had my GoKart for a little over 5 years, its never had a problem. For just £99 I return it to GoKart every 2 years, it gets a full service, they replace anything that looks remotely worn, and then return it complete with another 2 year warranty, trust me it comes back looking brand new. Visit their website and read some of the customer feedback, it is truly amazing, in this day and age it is so refreshing to find a 100% British designed and built product that comes with a 100% customer service level.

Speed of delivery, ease of use and performance make this (Automatic version) well worth the money. The only downside as far as I can see - I haven't used it a great deal yet - is the lack of brake. When you park on a slope, which on my course is often and relatively steep, it tries to get away from you and has to be manoeuvred, which is a pain if the ball is at a different height from your feet AND front and back foot aren't level. Finding the right spot where it doesn't run away is a nuisance when the flick of a brake would solve the problem. I would recommend spending the extra for a lithium battery because the lead/acid isn't light if you're advanced in years. Haven't yet needed the much-vaunted customer service and hope not to. Very satisfied.

Bought the Go Kart electric golf trolley last week after being recommended by a friend. We have a hilly course and it performed very well with no problems. I may get a lithium battery in the futur. The point is with being able to speak to someone with any queries and the good service.

Great trolley, I've had Powercaddy and Motocaddy and this is by far the best, Very easy to use and control, I have the Automatic which works by grip pressure and it couldn't be easier. Very easy to clean after a wet round, especially the wheels which come off very simply. The motor is silent on my trolley so I don't know what the reviewer was talking about (perhaps it was on the earlier models). Very light and in some great colours, people always comment how good it looks with the matching bag on. British built and the best customer service around ( had to use them once), what more could you ask for. I had a small problem with my trolley after a few months use so I called them up. They sent me a replacement trolley the next day to use while they took mine away for repair. 2 days later I got mine back repaired, serviced and cleaned. Try getting that standard of customer service from any of the other trolley companies. Had mine now for about 2 years now and it still goes and looks like new. Couldn't recommend it highly enough.

Had my Go Kart Automatic for a couple of weeks now and have to say that from ordering to using the quality and service has been fantastic. Used it for a couple of rounds and very simple to set up and use, accesories are great and with the December deals has to be the best priced model on the market. Looking forward to testing it at Celtic manor next week.

The initial set up is easy; a couple of clicks and you're pretty much ready to go. The instructions are very simple to follow but be prepared to allow the battery a full 8 hours to charge, it will flash green when it's ready to go, go go!! and you can then get out on the course.

On the course it's a dream, I tested it in extreme conditions and it tackled thick wet rough and standing water like it wasn't even there. The GoKart standard speed control model has a simple roller on the handle to adjust the speed, which makes it really easy to make the trolley match your walking pace and with completely variable speed it was just as easy going up hills as it was going down them.

At the end of the round, it didn't take long to remove the battery, fold down and get it back in its case. (Which was great because it was raining heavily and I was in a hurry to jump into the car!)

What I love about the GoKart is its simplicity in design, set up and in use including the shift up for speed up, shift down for speed down. It also folds neatly and compactly, is easy to pick up, easy to carry and it really is a delight to use.

With a choice of 6 different colours, 18/36 hole battery options (weighing 6.5kg or 8.5kg), there is something to suit everyone. GoKart also offer additional accessories that are also available in the same colours which include umbrellas, hedgehog wheels, bags, bag rain cover and travel cover, or maybe the seat takes your fancy?? Admittedly there are lighter trolleys on the market but this will be overlooked, as previously mentioned it's so easy to carry.
