The Callaway White Hot XG Putter fits into the Odyssey range between the softer White Hot models and the firmer DF2 models.

Basically it is similar in style to the old White Steel putters and that is where we feel it falls down. The inserts in these models are really too small and they seem to be trying to be combining the benefits of the other two models into one without really succeeding.

The feel off the face is good, but the sound feedback you get varies by which model you use. Some provide that feedback and some don’t and we feel this is very important.

For those that do, then the White Hot XG putter does give you the feel of the White Hot with the sound of the DF2, but it just does not seem to hit the mark when it comes to consistency.

Odyssey know that sound is important and we feel this is their solution to the problem of no sound from the White Hot models, but in our view, the excellent DF2 is the model to go for.

The Odyssey White Hot XG Rossie is a great putter. I love the feel and the look. Most people say it too soft but I agree it is a little soft but I really like the putter itself.
