Titleist have added an all-new T Grind wedge, traditionally a favourite of tour players around the world, as part of their WedgeWorks range of custom made clubs.
Said to have been inspired by Bob Vokey's work with one of the best wedge players of all time (we'll leave it up to you to guess who), the T Grind is being used by the likes of Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas and is designed for golfers with 'great hands and a vivid short-game imagination'.
Available in 58 and 60 degrees, the T Grind is ideal for a shallow angle of attack in firm conditions, with low bounce and a narrow crescent surface. In comparison to the L Grind, there is a wider back flange and this allows for the bounce to be lowered.
"Wedge play is an art, and the T Grind brings out the best in the artist. The leading edge stays low to the playing surface as the wedge is rotated which allows you to hit a variety of shots from tight lies. This is the wedge that really made Vokey Grinds an important part of our process - and still to this day is a great option."
Bob Vokey, Master Craftsman.
The WedgeWorks T Grind features the same technologies as in the SM9 Wedge, reviewed by Sophie earlier this year.
The CG has been raised vertically by adding weight to the topline, whilst a tapered pad at the back of the toe pushes the centre of gravity forward without intruding at address.
There is also a new 'spin milled cutting process' that produces consistently sharper grooves from wedge to wedge, for more spin with greater reliability.
The WedgeWorks T Grind is available from today at an SRP of £209 and comes in both Tour Chrome and Raw finishes. It is complete with a True Temper Dynamic Gold S200 shaft and Tour Velvet 360 White grip.
