It has been over 10 years since TaylorMade released a range specifically designed for women golfers.

In the intervening period a lot of its research has focussed on faster swing speeds than the average female amateur possesses, but in line with its commitment to making products that make golfers of all skill levels and swing types better, it has used its knowledge of how the ball reacts as slower speeds to produce the Kalea range.

TaylorMade Kalea Women's Range

Kalea is a full set of golf clubs designed to give meaningful performance to female players, using technology to maximise performance for the typical launch conditions of women golfers.

Tomo Bystedt, Senior Director of Product Creation for TaylorMade, explains the move back into a dedicated range for women:

We’ve learned a great deal about product performance in the last decade, much of which was geared toward faster swing speeds. For us, Kalea was a great opportunity to take our learnings on slower swing speeds and bring them to market with products that provide meaningful performance for female players, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results.

To meet the demands of the slower swing speeds, TaylorMade has put together a technical package that focuses on maximising the speed from the face and assisting a higher launch for more carry. Optimised lofting and a low/back centre of gravity position ensures the clubs have enough to get the ball up into the air.

Slot technology in the soles, a long standing TaylorMade iron innovation, allows the face of the club to flex more, especially on strikes below centre, to produce a spring like effect to deliver as much ball speed as possible.

All of the clubs have been fitted with Kalea SlimTech shafts that have smaller tip diameters to help increase launch angle at impact.

TaylorMade Kalea Women's Range

The Kalea range of woods and irons has been designed to work in unison, bringing a package that maximises performance for slower swing speeds and as a result the clubs will generate more consistent yardage gaps throughout the set with noticeably higher ball flights.

There is a smooth transition between the clubs in the set as TaylorMade has managed the lofts, lengths and head shapes to ensure every club is as easy to hit as the next.

These technical elements have been paired with aesthetically appealing designs and colour finishes that give a consistent feeling to the whole set.

In total the Kalea range is available in thirteen clubs: a driver, 3, 5 and 7 fairway woods, 4 & 5 Rescues, 6 & 7 transition irons, 8 & 9 irons, pitching wedge, sand wedge and putter. TaylorMade is also releasing a Kalea golf ball, a two-piece ball with a soft cover and low compression, engineered to perform best when played in conjunction with Kalea golf clubs.

All of the Kalea range will hit the shops on the 6th December 2015 with the following RRP's: Driver £249; Fairway Woods £179; Rescues £159; Irons £549; Putter £109; Golf Balls £19.99.
