G/Fore has quickly gained a reputation as a brand who aren't afraid to be bold with their concepts and designs, and this latest release appears to be no different.
The MG4.1 is a crossover golf shoe which brings together design elements of an athletic shoe with the performance technology and comfort required for a top-level golf shoe.
Designed by founder Mossimo Giannulli, the MG4.1 continues the company ethos of allowing golfers to express themselves whilst playing, as well as 'injecting more fun and flair back into the game'.
Giannulli commented on the latest design:
MG4.1 is years in the making and demonstrates our passion for pushing the boundaries of footwear styling, technology and functionality for both on and off-course use.
We have been extremely successful with our classic and street styles over the past few years, but felt we needed to expand the collection to include an athletic style to give golfers a fresh new look that also delivers serious performance.
On the PGA Tour, Bubba Watson will be wearing the MG4.1 and we full expect to see all of our tour ambassadors around the globe sporting them soon.
We caught up with Massimo himself at the 2019 PGA Show to see get the inside track on the shoe to see why this is a shoe to look out for...
The MG4.1 features a one-piece knitted upper that hugs the foot and provides lightweight and breathable comfort from heel to toe. Internal and external overlays provide added lateral support and an integrated heel tab as well as a 4-way stretch collar ensure easy slip-in comfort.
An 'auxetic lattice' midsole, complete with new Forefoam, gives lightweight comfort whilst allowing flexibility and maximum energy return with every step. The triple density footbed is also said to give extra underfoot cushioning for long days on and off the course.
On the outsole, a new full rubber Saw Toot traction pattern has been designed to provide flexibility, stability and grip. Two styles will feature prominent G4 branding on the outsole and the other three will have more subtle branding on just the upper of the shoe.
Retailing at £149, the MG4.1 range is available in five different colourways - Onyx, Snow, Poseidon, Birch and Pewter. For those looking to get ahead of the game, there will be limited volume of early release MG4.1’s available to purchase from April 1st.
