Fans of the Callaway Big Bertha Alpha 815 driver know that the ability to adjust the club to their swing produces the goods.
Callaway has now brought this concept to the other metals in your bag with the release of the Big Bertha Alpha 815 Fairway Wood.
This means not just the accepted adjustability of loft and lie, where Callaway's OptiFit adjustable hosel gives players 8 options, but also the ability to adjust spin in the fairway wood.
Swapping the 3g and 30g weights between the forward or back positions completely alters the spin characteristic of the fairway wood, meaning players can pick the one that will the deliver the results they are looking for.
With the heavier weight forward, the Big Bertha Alpha 815 fairway is a low spin club that is ideal for distance from the tee. However, switching the weight to the back results in a club with a higher launch and much more forgiveness.
Designed with a compact head shape that appeals to the better player and available in 3 lofts of 14°, 16° and 18°, Callaway are confident that the Big Berth Alpha 815 will be able to find a place in any bag.
The now familiar Face Cup technology that Callaway has brought to the fore in the Big Bertha family is incorporated into the Alpha 815 fairway with a Forged Hyper Speed Face Cup. This creates ball speed across every impact location across the face, especially towards the bottom, to increase distance from either the tee or the fairway.
The Big Berth Alpha 815 fairway comes with a Fujikura Speeder 665 shaft as standard, but as is now becoming the norm from Callaway, there are also a range of premium shaft options that can be offered via a Callaway fitter at no extra charge.
