Adidas is launching the latest shoe in the Power franchise it started ten years ago.
Founded to create shoes with the most traction, support and stability to maximise swing speed and performance the latest offering takes this forward by combining some of the brands most recognised game changing technologies.
Masun Denison, Director of Footwear, explains the history:
The original Powerband golf shoe was a revolutionary product when we first brought it to the marketplace in 2007 and it helped push golf footwear technology to the next level.
The Power franchise has always stood out as bold and more progressive, and is a great representation of what adidas golf is all about. Infusing this footwear with all that we have learned the past 10 years, the new Powerband Boa Boost is the most technical and innovative Powerband shoe to date and we are excited to bring it back to the golf market.
The Powerband Boa Boost is the culmination of the latest biomechanical testing and research using construction that promotes energy return, lateral stability and comfort.
Using a new Powercage chassis the shoe combines supportive materials and straps in the centre saddle of the shoe to lock down the midfoot as well as incorporate the new L6 Boa Closure System.
Located on the top centre of the tongue for easy accessibility, the Boa dial controls an incremental pull and push structure to enable fast and easy micro-adjustability.
Boost foam in the midsole provides cushioning for walking comfort and active energy return and is complemented by additional foam in the forefoot for soft, long lasting comfort. A fitfoam PU sockliner adds cushioning and support around the foot whilst the climaproof stretch microfiber upper offers durability and lightweight comfort with easy care.
Traction comes from a 6-spike TPU outsole construction that uses strategically placed secondary lugs and new low profile thintech EXP spikes to provide grip, stability, performance and enhanced green friendliness.
