The Adipower Boost golf shoes from Adidas Golf use the innovative Boost foam cushioning that the sportswear giant have successfully incorporated in their athletic shoes used in running, basketball and baseball.

The Boost foam is comprised of thousands of TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) energy capsules that are fused together under a high pressure steam moulding process.

As a result these capsules function by storing and releasing energy generated from the foot. This means that throughout the golf swing the Adipower Boost takes and then returns energy, helping both your swing and your comfort during the round.

Another advantage versus traditional materials is that the Boost foam, unlike tradition EVA foam which hardens and softens with temperature changes, retains consistent cushioning and is therefore responsive in both hot and cold conditions.

Masun Denison, Director, Global Product Marketing, Footwear at Adidas Golf, explains the philosophy behind the Adipower boost:

Innovation is at the core of everything we do, and we are relentlessly looking to push design, engineering and performance boundaries to create footwear that helps our athletes and all golfers perform at their highest level. Adipower boost is a perfect example of utilising breakthrough technology never seen before in golf to create the ultimate performance golf shoe

The revolutionary Boost foam combines with a lace-in saddle, fitsleeve tongue wrapping, external heel counter and a fitfoam PU sockliner to ensure the Adipower Boost delivers a more precise, comfortable fit for all golfers.

For the first time, Adidas Golf has placed gripmore cleats of varying sizes, strategically locating them on the outsole to deliver improved and more efficient traction and stability where it’s needed most.

Through player testing and performance testing using a forceplate Adidas have garnered tour player feedback in the Boost shoes for more than a year and have been delighted with how the pros have taken to them.

Jason Day, Adidas brand ambassador, started testing the shoe in March:

When I first put them on, I immediately noticed how comfortable they were. I didn’t want to take them off. During the swing, the energy return is noticeable - as if you can feel the technology in action. I wanted to keep them the moment I saw them. They feel good, and look good, too.

The shoes are available in three models, the Adipower Boost which retails for £129.99 is joined by two other versions of the shoe, as well as a ladies model that features the same design properties and technologies as the men's.

Joining the Adipower Boost is the Adipower Boost Boa that features the unique Boa Closure system on an Adidas shoe for the first time. Using the incremental pull and push structure located on the top of the tongue allows golfers to get an easier and more precise closure on the shoe than with traditional laces and retails at £149.99.

The Adidas Sport Boost retails at £99.99 and is built on Adidas's iconic supernova running last, using much of the design elements of the Adipower Boost but with a streamlined, spikeless design that uses the Adiwear traction system.
