As we enter winter, many golfers will be entering their clubs into hibernation storage for the colder months. However, with advances in base layers, specifically in golf, cold weather doesn't need to be the reason you don't play.
Are you an avid golfer that likes to play during the winter? Do you get often get cold on the course? Well, Galvin Green have a set of base layers designed just for you. I took them out to see just how warm and comfortable they are.
Swedish company Galvin Green started focussing on golf outerwear in 1990 and since then their distinctive designs have seen them create a market leading range waterproofs.
The company's motto is 'We Never Compromise' and this is shown in the materials and functionality that their outerwear has. A long time user of Gore-tex, many other fabric types are now used to create everything from base layers to waterproofs that work together.
Galvin Green were one of the first clothing brands to promote a layering concept of lightweight breathable layers that work together to keep you warm and dry in all conditions. As they expanded into trousers and polo shirts this took the brand into warm weather climates too as their markets expanded worldwide, with a USA subsiidary opening in 2013.
2016 saw their appointment as Official Outerwear Supplier to the European Ryder Cup team which continues to this day and sees their latest uncompromising materials and designs adorn the best players in the world in the world's largest team golf event.
