Who? 34 year-old American Webb Simpson
What? The 2020 RBC Heritage, his second PGA Tour victory of the season
Where? Harbour Town Golf Links, Hilton Head, South Carolina
How? On a dramatic final day which included a weather delay of nearly three hours, and where 35 players were within five shots of the lead early on, it was Webb Simpson who eventually managed to separate himself from the pack with an incredible display of putting on the back nine. A final round of 64 was just enough to edge out Abraham Ancer, with the likes of Tyrrell Hatton, Jaco Niemann and last week's winner Daniel Berger just a further shot behind.
Following the victory, Simpson said:
“Honestly, the last kind of 10 holes were a blur because guys are making birdies, we're trying to finish before night comes. So to finish with five birdies like that was really special, especially after going kind of yesterday and the first 10 holes, 11 holes today not making putts. To see the putts go in when I needed them, that was really fun to see the ball going in the hole.”
