Who? 43 year-old American Tiger Woods.
What? The 2019 Zozo Championship, his 82nd PGA Tour victory.
Where? Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club, Chiba, Japan
How? Woods tied Sam Snead's record for most PGA Tour victories with a three-stroke victory over second placed Hideki Matsuyama. Opening with a pair of 64s, the event was then disrupted by heavy rain which meant that the players had to return on Monday morning to finish the final round.
Though Matsuyama briefly looked like he was going to mount a serious challenge, Woods kept his cool and a birdie on the 72nd hole provided the final touches to a great week. Coming off the back of recent knee surgery and starting the event with three consecutive bogeys indicated that there may have been some rust, but the win pushes Woods up to sixth in the World Rankings heading towards the end of the year.
Following the victory, Woods said:
Just crazy. I've been consistent most of my career and put myself up there with a chance to win on a number of occasions. Sometimes I didn't but today was one of those days I pulled it out.
