Lots of people are trying to get lighter in January, and thanks to Puma Golf you can be lighter on the golf course in 2014.
Puma's new LiteStyle movement is focused on producing lightweight footwear for golfers whilst still delivering the ultimate performance. Just a couple of days ago, the company launched their new Biofusion shoes. Golfalot's own Martin Hopley caught up with Puma Golf's footwear manager, Grant Knudson, at the 2014 PGA Show to learn about the more versatile Biofusion Mesh shoe.
The goal behind the Biofusion Mesh is to create a flexible, lightweight, mesh shoe that provides plenty of support and long-lasting durability.
Surprisingly the shoe is also waterproof. The upper portion of the shoe is made from a breathable, athletic, waterproof mesh material that Puma say is more breathable than traditional waterproofing.
Inside the shoe, Puma's EverFoam offers all the comfort you would expect from a Puma shoe. The slow-recovery, memory foam fits around your heel and is specifically positioned to adjust to the contours of your feet throughout a round.
Turn the shoe over, and you will discover the carbon rubber sole. This is where the Biofusion Mesh gets its traction and durability. The long-lasting rubber construction helps prevent the sole from wearing, whilst Puma's SmartQuill technology offers over 100 grip lugs designed to offer increased traction between you and the ground.
The channels that weave throughout the outsole provide the flexibility for the sole to move and adapt to the ground below your feet.
“Designed on a completely new anatomical last, the Biofusion Mesh shoe provides ultimate fit, performance and comfort through all 18 holes. Plus, its spikeless silhouette, wrapped in our new waterproof mesh, is designed for wear off the course, as well.” Knudson said.
One of the players that has already tried the Biofusion Mesh is Cobra Puma's own Jonas Blixt. The two-time PGA Tour winner said "I absolutely love the look and feel of the Biofusion Spikeless Mesh. It’s a great performer on the course that allows me to really grip the ground through my swing. At the same time, it’s a cool style I’ll definitely be rocking off the course.”
Initially available in three colour options, the Biofusion Mesh will be available from March 1st.
