The idea behind the new Odyssey Tri-Hot 5K range is develop a blade putter construction that outperforms a mallet in traditional head shapes.
To do this, Odyssey has moved the CG positioning forwards in the end, whilst utilising new materials for the first time in a putter. Stainless steel, tungsten and 6061 aluminium have all been used with the aim of 'reinventing what a blade can accomplish'.
Stainless Steel Front
The putters are designed to improve performance by reducing the amount of side spin produced on off-centre hits. This is done thanks to a 303 stainless steel front section, which includes both the hosel and face area.
The material has been milled to produce exactly the desired shape and weight, helping to optimise the precise forward CG location. This helps to keep putts closer to the original line with a tighter dispersion, meaning that your off-centre strikes are a little more likely to still go in.
Tungsten Front Weights
Over 120 grams of tungsten have been precisely positioned behind the face in the toe and heel sections of the club head, providing more stability to the club head.
This, combined with the forward CG for improved roll, contribute to an inertia level of over 5,000. Callaway says that this provides forgiveness that has never been seen before in a standard size blade putter.
Interchangeable Front Weights
Available in aluminium, steel and tungsten, the removable weights allow you to dial in your head weight to meet your exact preferences.
White Hot Insert
The most popular insert of all time returns in the Odyssey putter range, with the original formulation, feel, sound and performance.
Red Stroke Lab Shaft
The newest generation of Stroke Lab sees a shorter steel section, reducing weight by seven grams compared to the original Stroke Lab. The shaft is also stiffer and more stable, providing even more consistency during the putting stroke.
There are five models available in the new Tri-Hot 5K Putter range: One, Two, Three, Double Wide and Triple Wide.
They come complete with a new Tri-Hot Pistol Grip and are priced at £379, available from 18th February.
