FootJoy's Pro/SL has set the standard for the performance golf shoe for a number of years, as the bestselling model on the market and chosen by more Tour players than any others.
However, FootJoy aren't done there. Using their new motto 'Only Everything Matters' as a philosophy, they are seeking to improve and find new ways to help golfers play to their best.
So over the last 18 months, the brand has worked to develop a brand new Pro/SL Shoe, as well as a new Carbon model to boot.

As the industry leader, we didn't tweak or adjust the new Pro/SL, we innovated and advanced and received Tour approval. As a result, we've developed a product that delivers more stability, more traction, more comfort and more choice, setting the standard in performance footwear again.
The new Pro/SL offers more traction and stability for every shot and on every different type of lie. An all-new Infinity Outsole provides grip by delivering 189 different points of traction with the ground, meaning that you are ably supported during each swing you make.
This infinity shape optimises stability by producing an 11.5% wider heel than the previous Pro/SL model, which also increases forefoot stability.
Optimal comfort is provided in the Pro/SL thanks to a Dual-Density midsole which gives stability and cushioning. This comes after feedback from Tour players, who said that whilst the Pro/SL looked great and performed well, a little more comfort could improve them even further.
The midsole comprises of two different densities of FootJoy's FineTuned Foam (FTF) : a firmer section around the perimeter for support and control, and a softer section under the foot for extra cushioning and comfort.
This is supported by a super-soft waterproof leather and Power Harness on the redesigned upper, which hug your feet and add to the comfort for out-of-the-box, all-day usage.
FootJoy Pro/SL Carbon Shoe
If you want even more comfort and stability, and don't mind spending a little bit more, then you can go for the brand new Pro/SL Carbon. This features a full-length carbon fibre insert in the midsole, providing high levels of stability and control during the natural motion of the swing.
The carbon fibre flexes and then elastically snaps back to its original position, which helps with energy return whilst walking, resulting in less leg and foot fatigue during the course of your round.
The Carbon shoes provide golfers with plenty of comfort and guard against slippage thanks to a soft, moulded collar and underfoot cushioning thanks to an OrthoLite Impressions FitBed seen in the Tour X.
FootJoy Pro/SL Women's Shoe
For 2020 FootJoy are also introducing a new version of of the Pro/SL in the Women’s performance footwear line-up. It has been an instant hit too, having already been worn to victory on the LPGA by Sei Young Kim, winner of the 2019 CME Group Tour Championship!
The Men's Pro/SL Shoes will be available from 1st February at an SRP of £149.99, with an extra £20 if you want the BOA lacing system, in five different colour styles. The Women's model is priced at £124.99 in three colours.
The Pro/SL Carbon is priced at £179.99 and will be available from April 1st, in Black/Charcoal/Grey or White/Charcoal/Grey.
