Cobra has taken the level of spin and feel from its wedges with the release of the King Pur wedge.
Building on the success of the Cobra King Wedge, the King Pur features a raw, un-plated stainless steel finish that Cobra says maximises spin, versatility and precision around the greens.
Constructed from Raw 304 Stainless Steel, that gives a reduced glare finish, ultra-precise grooves maximise spin with wider grooves and closer gapping on higher lofted wedges, and traditional thinner, deeper grooves on lower lofted wedges.
The wider groove design allows higher lofted wedges (56-60*) to grab the ball to impart more spin, and make spin performance more consistent throughout the wedge set. The new grooves are combined with Variable Face Roughness (VFR), a face milling technology that maximises both RA (average roughness) and RY (max peak-to-peak depth) to the USGA limit, delivering more control and precision on greenside shots.
Like the King wedge, the King Pur comes with three sole grind configurations, featuring the recognisable Cobra notch, to give golfers the ability to pick the best wedge to suit their game and course conditions.
The Versatile sole features heel and toe relief and a medium bounce of 8-10 degrees to provide overall versatility on medium to firm turf conditions.
The Classic configuration has a high sole bounce of 11-12 degrees and a progressively wider sole from heel to to for use on all turf conditions.
Finally the WideLow grind is low bounce, from 4-7 degrees, with a sole that works well on medium to soft turf conditions.
