Adidas has unveiled developments to their popular Adipower family of footwear, by including a new forging process in the design of their shoes to provide golfers with extra stability during the swing.
The range includes the Adipower 4ORGED spiked shoe for both men and women, and the 4ORGED S spikeless version for men.
After conducting consumer research into patterns of weight transfer by golfers during the golf swing, Adidas were able to incorporate a new technique which increases stability for the users without having to add extra material, and therefore extra weight, to the shoe.
This forging process is able to target the more vulnerable areas of the shoe, and heat-press the materials in that part of the shoe. This hardens the material to provide extra support during movement or under the stress of the swing, whilst doubling as a new design styling. It also helps keep the overall weight of the shoe down, meaning even more comfort for those who wear it.
Masun Denison, Adidas Golf Global Footwear Director, explained:
Anytime we can keep a shoe lighter without sacrificing the technology golfers need to play their best is a huge win. The forging process is so efficient. It’s just another piece that makes this such a high performing shoe, which is what golfers expect from us.
All versions of the new footwear will continue to feature Adidas’ BOOST technology in the midsole, which helps to minimise energy loss and improve cushioning and comfort.
Available now, both the Adipower 4ORGED at £129.95 and the Adipower 4ORGED S at £109.99 come with a one-year waterproof warranty.
