Schauffele fired an incredible 11 under par round of 62 to come from five strokes behind and beat the unfortunate Gary Woodland, who shot 68 in the final round to finish second having led overnight. If this is the blueprint for the rest of the year’s golf, we’re all set for some incredible action over the next 12 months!
Following the victory, Schauffele said:
This is the sort of stuff you dream about. This is why everyone works hard and does the right stuff. To actually pull it off feels awesome. I just feel like an underdog. I feel like until you’re No.1, you’re still chasing.
