Who? 27 year-old Frenchman Victor Perez.
What? The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, his first ever European Tour victory.
Where? Carnoustie, Kingsbarns, The Old Course, St Andrews, Scotland
How? Perez was tied with Englishman Matthew Southgate heading into the final round, but a bogey from Southgate on the famous 17th hole at the Old Course was enough to give Perez a one-stroke cushion, and he carded a closing round of 70 to claim victory.
Following the victory, Perez said:
There’s nothing like a win. The confidence that you get from getting it done – it’s so difficult at this level to win. Being my first year on the European Tour, I’m obviously delighted.
