How? Fleetwood set an early clubhouse lead after firing a fantastic 65 and had a nervous wait to see if anybody would catch him. Markus Kinhult made a great par on the 18th to force a playoff but struggled to a 5 on the first playoff hole, whereas Fleetwood made a miraculous up and down after missing the green to the right, giving him the win and the $2.5 million prize money.
Following the victory, Fleetwood said:
It’s great to have something like that and put that one in the bank account but nothing comes close to holding this trophy – this is the most special thing.
