Who? 36 year old American Brian Harman.
What? The 2023 Open Championship, his first major victory.
Where? Royal Liverpool Golf Club, Hoylake, Merseyside.
How? Harman produced the best performance of his career after beating the conditions, and one of the toughest fields in golf, to win by six strokes and become a major champion for the first time. Harman took a five shot lead into the final round and held his nerve, despite being chased by the likes of Cam Young, Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm, to card a one-under round of 70.
